When WooCommerce wishlists are implemented properly, they’re a great way to keep visitors and customers engaged.

And retain their interest in your store for a longer period of time. Wishlist products are a great way to keep your commitment to service to your loyal visitors alive and well.

You can also bring more attention to your wishlist page by targeted promotional campaigns for your most wish-listed products and WooCommerce favorites for your customers.

This is a new trending sales technique that a lot of eCommerce stores have been using. And the results speak for themselves as these promotional campaigns are getting more attention and a big jump in numbers.

The wishlist page is particularly important for websites with large collections of products in different categories. This prevents your customers from losing track of what they were browsing for. Only to be confused among hundreds of potentially great products.

Let your visitors and customers browse through your eCommerce website and save their favorites for later.

Wishlist save for later WooCommerce feature is by far the best addition to today’s modern online shops. Helping customers save time and effort shopping for their favorite goodies and day-to-day shopping.

Having the ability to create a wishlist in WooCommerce has several benefits for both customers and merchants, helping merchants boost revenue in the long term.

And saving customers time every time they visit to purchase their WooCommerce wishlisted products.

Reasons to Adopt a WooCommerce Wishlist & the Benefits It Provides

Having a wishlist function in an online store offers both user satisfaction and business benefits. Let’s break it down, shall we?

Business Perspective:

The WooCommerce wishlist plugin provides its users with the ability to understand their customer’s shopping behavior. The ability to get an insight into which products are they buying on a regular basis and which products they’re saving for later checkout.

The WordPress wishlist plugin can help businesses analyze their current sales, plan future sales, and stock inventory based on customers’ wishlist preferences. Create targeted marketing and promotional campaigns for wishlisted products, and so on.

Customer Satisfaction Perspective:

Customer satisfaction should/must be a top priority for every online storefront. And by adding a functional wishlist to WooCommerce website. You can immediately reduce the time it takes for your customers to find their products and the time it takes to purchase it.

This greatly increases the customer satisfaction element of the equation and will help retain loyal customers in the long term.

Now that the benefits of having a WooCommerce wishlist on your eCommerce website are out of the way, let’s get down to – how to add a wishlist in WooCommerce WordPress!

How to Add a WooCommerce Wishlist to Your Online Store (In 4 Simple Steps)

Instead of using any free WooCommerce wishlist plugin, we chose to create our wishlist function with a comprehensive WooCommerce addon plugin. That comes with all the necessary features to create a fully functional online shop from scratch.

For this reason, we’ll be using a simple and free WooCommerce plugin known as ShopReady WooCommerce Shop Builder. The plugin will serve as the foundation for our WooCommerce wishlist functionality.

Within the WooCommerce shop, the plugin provides a wishlist page with popup functionality for customers to use.

The plugin provides a number of wishlist-related customization options that can be tweaked to fit the overall aesthetics of our website.

Before we begin, we should also take our pre-requirements into consideration. To add any kind of online shopping capability to WordPress, we must first install the WooCommerce and Elementor page builder plugins.

Both of these are necessary for the ShopReady – WooCommerce Shop Builder to operate.

Note:

Check out these resources, if you have any confusion regarding the WooCommerce plugin configuration or if you don’t know how to add products in WooCommerce.

And if you run into any issues regarding WooCommerce or your WooCommerce wishlist plugin is misconfigured, you can always follow up with the official WooCommerce documentation page.

Step 1: Download & Install the ShopReady – WooCommerce Shop Builder Plugin

To install the best WooCommerce plugin, just simply log into your WordPress website. Head over to the Plugins menu, and search for the ShopReady – WooCommerce Shop Builder Plugin.

Download and install the plugin, alongside both of its pre-requirements WooCommerce & Elementor page builders.

When you activate the ShopReady plugin, a controller dashboard will appear on your screen. From here, you can enable/disable any of ShopReady’s included WooCommerce widgets and modules.

You can also tweak around with the template options from here.

Step 2: Installing a WooCommerce WordPress Theme

In our case, we can skip the theme installation part since ShopReady’s development team has provided 8 of the best WooCommerce themes that are fully compatible with Elementor.

These are no ordinary importable Elementor templates. These are fully featured marketplace themes with the necessary pages, layouts, and design elements ready to go.

All that needs to be done is to select and import any of the templates using the Unyson plugin’s Backup & Demo Content extension

Step 3: Using a Preset Template to Add a Wishlist Function

Since ShopReady is a comprehensive shop-building platform. It includes a set of robust preset wishlist templates for WooCommerce and a couple of wishlist widgets to add the WooCommerce wishlist buttons to your website.

This makes it possible for goods & services to be added to wishlist WooCommerce without a plugin.

To get started, add the wishlist template using the ShopReady Dashboard and search for the Wishlist Popup Template.

To access the preset template, simply enable it and click on the edit or add a new icon. And you’ll be redirected to the Elementor Editor screen.

Each and every design element of this page can be customized using the Elementor Editor’s style options and layout options.

Step 4: Adding a Customized eCommerce Header Section

This is an important section for any eCommerce website. It is the Header section that comes with all the important navigational information for your entire website. Alongside the mega menu, search box, WooCommerce wishlist button, login section, and so on.

We’ll be taking a look at the WooCommerce wishlist button in this part of the guide. As shown earlier, ShopReady comes with a lot of preset tools and WooCommerce templates.

That are capable of creating your entire website without the hassle of coding or complex customization menus.

To create your header section with ShopReady, just create a new header section if you already don’t have one, from the ShopReady Dashboard > Header Footer option.

ShopReady makes header and footer creation as easy as creating a new page. Just add your title and click Edit with Elementor.

Now from the Elementor Editor screen, ShopReady comes with two options – 1. creating the header section from scratch using multiple WooCommerce & Elementor widgets of our choice, or 2. using one of the many stunning header templates provided by the ShopReady plugin.

For this one, we’ll be going the easy route by importing an Elementor Header template of our choice from its Elementor template library and clicking “Insert.”

With this done, you’re getting a functional header section with all the necessary feature sets and page navigation, a mega menu, and most importantly, the wishlist button. That can be customized using the Elementor editor, or you can utilize a WooCommerce wishlist button shortcode.

This not only saves you time but also helps you utilize an operational WooCommerce shortcode, using the ShopReady shortcode widget.

And not only that you can create your entire wishlist function using any standard WooCommerce wishlist shortcode.
